Psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud invites Professor C.S. Lewis to discuss the existence of God, Freud's unique relationship with his daughter, and Lewis's unconventional relationship with his best friend's mother. Lewis in Shadowland (1993) 30 years before this film.

The woman was actually Janie Moore, with whom Lewis lived until 1949

Lewis is shown researching the Gospels when a woman who appears to be his wife calls him into bed. The film is set in 1939, but Lewis did not marry Joy Davidman Gresham until 1956. [last lines] Sigmund Freud: From Error to Error, the Whole Truth Is Revealed..

As a fan of Lewis' work (although far from an expert on the type) I was very interested in seeing this film.

Hopkins and Goode's performances really carry the film

Although the target audience is probably 30 years older than me, I still quite enjoyed it. I normally struggle with films that use a lot of feedback to tell a story, but here it is done in a way that was helpful rather than distracting or disorienting. I wish the script had been a little stronger.

Overall, I liked the film and would watch it again

There were a few scenes that seemed to disappear instead of getting a much-needed emphatic response, mostly from Lewis.
